COMACOE is very proud to announce the receipt of award of Sea Water Intake & Outfall system for TANGEDCO’s 2 x 660 MW plant at Udangudi, Dist. Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu from BHEL, Chennai.
TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited) is establishing 2 x 660 MW coal based super critical thermal power plant at Udangudi, Tamil Nadu, India. BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd.), a Government of India Undertaking, is main EPC contractor for BTG and BOP works of the power plant, which includes the package for the Sea Water Intake & Outfall (SWIO) system. After a competitive open bidding process lasting for over a year, BHEL has awarded the SWIO system package on EPC basis to COMACOE. Including COMACOE, total 8 bids were received including Larsen & Toubro, ITD Cementation, Meka Infra, Techton Engineering, EDAC, Gayatri Projects Limited, and Ramky Infra. After an elaborate technical evaluation, only 3 bids were qualified technically and their prices were opened, namely, COMACOE, L&T and ITD Cementation and COMACOE was declared L1 and successful bidder eventually,
